Shasta (IG5208)

Shasta is an industry-leading NVMe controller for M.2 and BGA SSD form factors up to 2TB capacity. Utilizing the PCIe Gen3x2 interface and NVMe1.3 standard, Shasta features a DRAM-less architecture with full support of the Host Memory Buffer (HMB) function. Shasta delivers high performance without the cost burden of expensive DRAM in an SSD. Supporting SLC, MLC, TLC, and QLC, Shasta low power capability and small form factor make it an ideal solution for IoT and consumer electronics without the complicated thermal solutions. Additional features include Smart Cache, enhanced data encryption, end-to-end data protection, integrated Power-On-Reset (POR) function, NAND boot partition, and simplified PCB design. Shasta targets applications that require ultra thin, light devices, and ultra long battery life with outstanding performance, such as Internet of Things (IoT), Client/Edge computing, Server boot drive, Industrial control, and Embedded systems.

Shasta+ (IG5216)

Shasta+ is the next generation product of Shasta. A PCIe Gen3x4 NVMe SSD Controller with enhanced DRAM-less architecture utilizing 4 NAND channels. Shasta+ breaks the existing SSD performance boundaries to optimize high performance and low latency. The enhanced Intelligent Power Management Unit of Shasta+ is able to achieve ultra-low active and idle power mode consumptions, while the peak power consumption is targeted at less than 1.35W. Shasta+ is pushing SSD sequential R/W speeds without the high cost of DRAM. Targeted for client applications up to 2TB capacity with enhanced QLC performance and flexible packaging support for M.2, U.2, and BGA SSD.

Tacoma is an industry first 16/12nm FinFET high-end data center and enterprise SSD controller with PCIe Gen 4x4 interface, NVMe 1.4, 16 NAND channels, and up to 32TB capacity. Optimized for low latency storage class memory (SCM), Tacoma can reach less than 10us latency for intensive I/O applications when combined with low latency NAND flash to achieve significant lower cost. Tacoma features atomic write and in-storage computation with a deep learning accelerator for optimized system performance. Additionally, Tacoma supports both conventional and Open Channel SSD models to enable customers to fit different deployment scenarios based on their applications. Featured with InnoGrit’s proprietary error correction code (ECC) technology, Tacoma ensures data integrity by end-to-end data protection and enhances data reliability throughout the SSD lifespan.
